College students Unlock Your Future in Finance with Wells Fargo’s Project First-Gen

At Wells Fargo, we believe that education is the key to unlocking countless opportunities. This belief drives our commitment to supporting the next generation of leaders, especially those who are the first in their families to attend college. That’s why we are thrilled to introduce Project First-Gen: Corporate and Investment Banking—an exciting initiative designed to educate, inspire, and develop first-generation college sophomores eager to make their mark in the world of finance.

What Is Project First-Gen?

Project First-Gen is a unique eight-week virtual program created by Wells Fargo Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) in partnership with Wells Fargo Early Careers. This program is tailored specifically for first-generation college sophomores, providing them with an in-depth look into the key sectors that define CIB products and services: investment and corporate banking, markets, and commercial real estate.

This isn’t just another online course. Project First-Gen is an interactive learning experience that offers participants the chance to engage directly with industry experts, gain practical knowledge, and develop skills that are critical for success in high finance.

What You Can Expect

  • Weekly Virtual Sessions: Every Wednesday at 6 PM ET, participants will join dynamic, 90-minute sessions that cover various aspects of the finance industry. The program runs from September 25 through November 13, offering a comprehensive overview of investment and corporate banking, commercial real estate, and global markets.

  • Interactive Learning: To get the most out of this experience, participants are encouraged to join at least six out of the eight live sessions. Each session is designed to be interactive, ensuring that you’re not just learning passively but actively engaging with the material and the instructors.

  • Mandatory Milestones: The first and last sessions are mandatory. The final session is particularly valuable, as it features the CIB Early Careers Recruiting team, who will provide job search tips and share upcoming employment opportunities—an essential step for those looking to enter the finance industry after graduation.
